About Us
Care rooted in
compassion & connection.
Fairfield County House is a residence for people receiving hospice care through their own hospice agency. We are a home providing 24-hour care and a comfortable, home-like setting that makes the end of life easier for residents and their families.
We exist to care for the people entrusted to us, and to be a source of strength for the families who love them.
Our mission is rooted in the belief that every person deserves to grow older with dignity, purpose, and lasting happiness. Since our beginning, we have created a welcoming home where residents are supported and valued.
Our Founding
A home-like alternative, built to fill a gap.
Fairfield County House was established to fill a gap in end-of-life care: a home-like alternative to a hospital, nursing home, or the strain of full-time caregiving at home.
That belief guides every decision we make, from how we design our spaces to the care we provide.
Our Values
What guides our care.

Our Care Team
Skilled hands, listening ears.
Our care team works alongside the nurses and staff from each resident's hospice agency to deliver their plan of care. They bring skilled care, a listening ear, and real warmth to residents and families alike.
EJ leads our nursing team with extensive experience in long-term care, end-of-life, and hospice care. He oversees a dedicated team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants. “As an experienced hospice nurse, I think it’s a good place to be. The house accommodates up to eight residents, which lets us give more individualized care. I like getting to know the residents through one-on-one interactions.”
“I was drawn to work here because I wanted to care for people in their final stage of life, in a beautiful place. My favorite thing about being here is our residents.”
“I liked that it was a newer concept for Connecticut and a new adventure for me. What I like most is the people and staff, and being able to really care for the residents individually.”
“I like to work with people who need end-of-life care. I felt very welcome here. I enjoy taking care of the residents and finding little ways to make them happy.”
