Our Care · Palliative Care
Comfort-focused care, before hospice.
Not everyone who needs support is ready for hospice. Fairfield County House also provides palliative care: comfort-focused care for people managing a serious illness, in the same home-like residence with the same 24/7 team. Palliative care can begin earlier than hospice and doesn’t require stopping other treatment.

How palliative care differs from hospice.
Hospice care is for people nearing the end of life who have chosen comfort care over curative treatment. Palliative care focuses on comfort and quality of life too, but can start earlier and alongside ongoing treatment. At Fairfield County House, palliative-care residents have their care overseen by their own physician.
